Introductory newsletter
Welcome to Safinco’s Lifestyle and Financial Management Program Newsletter.
There is no doubt that, worldwide, we are living in an extremely challenging environment.
Socially, we have had our freedom restricted which, to all intents and purposes, has had the effect of a major change mentally and physically in respect of our day to day living. We have had to adapt our lifestyles to a “New Norm.”
Political upheaval throughout the countries of the world has held to account elected leaders who have had to make the most important decisions of their careers on how to deal with the pandemic caused by Covid-19. It must be said that most elected leaders of the 21st century would not have expected to deal with such important matters during their tenure. This pandemic has caused populations to review their political systems. Populations have had severe restrictions placed on them which have affected lifestyles in every way, causing people to re-evaluate their personal situation, objectives and goals, in order to survive. History shows that when populations come under pressure, a national unity of purpose is one of the top priorities in coping with the challenge. The hard fought for freedoms, post the recent wars in the world, have in many ways prepared us as citizens of the world to work together and fight this pandemic. There is no ‘One’ solution and no magic wand….not even if they find a vaccine as by nature they are not 100% effective and the virus itself mutates. So humanity is faced with a new reality, sadly, of survival of the fittest, and will depend on the eventual “herd” immunity developing over time.
Economic fallout has been rapid and disastrous and affects each and every person. Generally speaking, the world economic systems have been unable to cope, forcing a slowdown in world economic development by bringing most trade to a standstill. This means that business security, job security, income security, and future security are all at risk. Already many find themselves in hopeless situations, particularly amongst the self-employed, small medium businesses, and even larger industrialised companies who highly depend on turnover to meet their obligations. Therefore, the impact on individuals is tantamount to a Re-Start. In some ways this is good. In many ways the challenges may be too great.
Despite the massive interventions by leading economies, including South Africa, to inject capital into the system to save and/or kick-start certain sectors of the economy, it is but a temporary solution to a long-term problem and the reality most likely will be, once again, survival of the fittest. Unemployment will be rife. Failures will be rife. Personal survival will be at risk and each and every person must rise to the challenge to ensure their, their families’, and the next generation’s survival into the future. The world’s economy may have been set back between 7 and 12 years and unfortunately time cannot be bought.
SOLUTIONS: When times are tough, the tough get going. No matter who you are, how old you are, how rich you are, how poor you are, the decisions YOU make will determine your success or failure. You will need to re-think who you are, where you are, and what you aspire to. There is no right or wrong answer. It comes down to whatever works for you, your family and those around you. Success will be a team effort. Solo successes will be possible but rare. Faith in yourself, your skills, your motivation, and your determination will lead you to success.
What can we do to assist you? We, who are in the same boat, must endeavor to row and steer the efforts of our clients. We employ tried and tested methods of activities gleaned over the last 40 years in financial services, and adapt and modify the solutions to provide for this unique situation socio-politically and economically that we all find ourselves in. It can be done. Going back to basics is what it’s all about. Re-set your goals, re-set your objectives, re-set your enthusiasm to create a better life for you and those around you. Be informed and use specialist skills to develop a new Life Plan and take the first step in re-building your life. Commit yourself to a 101% effort.

Affordability is always the big issue and therefore Financial Management forms an integral part and tool to be employed in creating or re-creating your future financial security. We also specialise in salvaging the remnants of the past by re-designing and re-purposing existing old solutions which may have survived the recent financial setbacks. Our services are predominantly fee-based but may include commissions from time to time. These will be disclosed to you should you wish to employ our services. That said, the costs for our services are highly competitive.
